Scottish Unversities £310 "gift"

In your NotW article yesterday and in your student guide here you said that if a student is on the maximum Maintenance Grant (my daughter is, and is about to start her first term) and the full fees were £3,145 the University was bound to give the student a non-returnable £310.
Scottish University tuition fees are only £1,775.00. Does this make my daughter ineligible to claim the £310?

Is your daughter receiving help from SAAS? If so then she won't be eligible for the bursary. If not then she will be. Here is a link to it from my university.0

Thank you, the one who, for your reply. No she is not receiving help from SAAS, we live in England (albeit that she is half-Scots!). We will next Monday at St A's do as you suggest. Most helpful.0
