polyester shower curtains...not even splash resistantant?

right due to the location of of our shower head the curtain gets splashed quiet alot

id been noticing the floor and toilet was getting soaked and assumed the old curtain a tad too short and letting water under

well anyway...got another longer polyester shower curtain and same again the floor is soaked

so i stand back and watch when the shower is on...the slightest of spray on the curtain goes right through it lol

i cant believe its not even in the slightest bit water resistant?

anyone finding the same or am i going mad (or got 2x dud ones)

I find most of them are like that. I buy a cheap clear liner & put that inside the curtain. Ikea does them for 90p.
  • really thats intresting...how stupid selling such a thing for use in a shower?

whats this liner like..unfortunetly im no where near a ikea, does it hang or sewn inside?

    only 89p now.

It doesn't matter where you get one from, I just like the Ikea one as it's clear & cheap. Any plastic shower curtain will do. Hook it onto the same rings on the inside of your polyester curtain.

I think the idea is that the polyester one looks nice & matches your bathroom. The liner is the cheap bit that can be easily changed when it starts to get manky.

have you tried ironing the shower curtain. the instructions with mine, says it has to be ironed every so often, to reactivate the waterproofing

yes it was iron when we first hung it up...funnily i wondered if that might have ruined the waterproofing

I use the cheapy liners on mine too. Looks posh, like in a hotel, plus when they get a bit old you can replace them for less than a pound and reuse the old one as a spare groundsheet for a picnic blanket or they are great for chucking garden waste onto and scooping into the green bin.

Asda have plastic ones. My mum and sister both have them. They cost about £4-£5.
