Hi Zippychick, I used this recipe on pancake day, it was the first time I had made crepe style pancakes (I've only ever made American before) and I thought they turned out great.
Got the recipe off of a website ages ago, can't remember where though.
"Ingredients: 125g plain flour, sifted
1 medium size egg, beaten
300ml milk
a little oil for frying
Method:
Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the centre. Add the egg, then gradually add half the milk, stirring constantly. Add the remaining milk and beat thoroughly, until smooth.
Heat a small omelette or frying pan and add a few drops of oil. Pour a little batter into the pan and tilt so that the batter coats the bottom of the pan.
Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until bubbles appear and the underside is golden. Loosen the edges of the pancake, then flip it over and cook the other side for a further 1-2 minutes, or until golden.
Pile the pancakes on to a warm plate, separating them with sheets of greaseproof paper. Keep warm and continue to make 8 pancakes in total."0 -

There is a thread on this board on pancakes with each year on it. Sorry I don't know how to do links but it won't be that many pages back as I saw it on the first page on Tuesday
Hope this helps.

Ok. If im substituting dry for fresh herbs, whats the ratio? Talking thyme.
Also, anyone got a creme fraiche substitute?
TIA
Very annoyed. New to baking, all was going well, made thriftladys muffins and twinks hobknobs and butter shortbread = gorgeous.
I tried delias pancakes which were inedible, and tonight banana muffins (different recipe), and the inside was like goo. I know im using the right quantities (99%) and ingredients, but how can it suddenly go wrong? Boo hoo.
Very disheartened. Tea and banana bread crust for me (im not wasting the outside!)A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hi - does anyone know how long you have to boil bacon ribs for? I imagine they would cook quickly but I seem to remember my Mum cooking them for ages because she said they would be tough otherwise. Can anyone advise?
Thanks!Jane

I used Nigella's pancake recipe and it was really easy and they were beautiful, somewhere between crepes and american pancakes so they rose a little and didn't spread too much in the pan so they were easy to control. Can find the recipe out for you but I know there were no specialist ingredients inGod is good, all the time

Are you sure you measured accuratelyI use that recipe every couple of months and the batter is like thick single cream. If there's too much water, the batter will tend to stick
