    Are you sure it's not gone out for the January payment:confused: ? And yes we do get a break for Feb/March.

    hhmmm not sure tbh billie last 3 payments were on 3rd nov, 1st dec, 5th jan, and then a payment out today. I always assumed you pay for the month ahead?? that's why I thought there would be nothing going out in feb.

    Ours goes out on 29th of the month (which is what I opted for when I set up the DD) and the last one was taken 29 January, which is why I thought perhaps they were late with the Jan payment. There's another thread here on this subject. HTH.

    Hi there

    I feel a wally asking :o but is it really ok to pour hot water over frozen car windscreens, locks etc? I usually use a de-icer spray but have nearly run out for tomorrow and don't want to go out tonight just for that. Would be tons cheaper to use a kettle as I've seen done before. I worry it will crack the windscreen :eek:

    hot? No. Hot water on freezing glass is likely to make it crack - really not MSE ;)

    warm? possibly. OH does it, I don't like to risk getting it wrong and having to buy a new windscreen. The water you pour over freezes again so quickly that you can end up in the same situation. I prefer the scrape it off method.

    Edited to add: You could use something to warm the metal bit of your key up to save using deicer on that bit - sometimes works. ;)

  • A big no no.....it could crack your windscreen for real, also I used just coldish warm water once and it melted the ice and then refroze within seconds so not much cop really ;)

    Hi all

    I have a quick question about bread mixes....thought I would use one this am as A TIME SAVING exercise as I have quite a few of them to use. It was a Hovis Granary BM just add water. I follwed the instructions; 12fl oz water, 1oz butter/marg, put in BM & use wholewheat large loaf (2lb) setting. Did this, first of all I thought my BM had broken as it didn't start, then realised it would take 4 hrs 20 mins!! to cook. Ok, then no fresh bead for lunch, but then when it finally finished - it looks like a small brick (or even half a brick!). What rubbish......but I wonder what I did wrong? I did use warm water as I would if making from scratch in BM, but otherwise am at a loss...any ieas please anyone??

  • I use these and love this bread, I have a panasonic bm and do this on rapid setting (i think I have done it on basic and wholewheat and not alot of difference) but I only use cold water from tap. It should have been fine though so I don't know what went wrong sorry
