Check the policy excess or limits of payout. I think Post Office pays out a maximum of £1500 per person for scheduled airline failure, whereas I think Ryanair / Easyjet safi will payout a max of £350 per person.........

Very good point indeed, I will double check this when I need to renew my policy in October.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • The cover i got with IPP is for £1500 per person i found out about it via the guardian article about XL worth a look if you dont have the cover on your annual policy already

    Re protectmyholiday.com.
I have some Air Asia flights booked from UK to Kuala Lumpur in October . I will be booking some other Air Asia flights too from KL to maybe Thailand.
It would seem hotels are not covered if booked through an agent, I will probably book those through Alpha rooms or similar. If the hotels or booking agents go bankrupt thats no big deal as can always cheaply book another one out there .
Im concerned about the wording re my Air asia flights about booking in the UK. I am in the UK but they are in asia.
    Policy wording ( pasted below)
This policy covers the insolvency before or after departure of any travel arrangements booked in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland, not forming part of an inclusive holiday and not bonded or insured elsewhere
You are not covered for the following:
The insolvency of the Travel Agent, Tour Operator, the booking agent (unless listed) or consolidator. It is therefore your commercial decision to book with them and thus your responsibility.

    What do you think?
On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.
