Sorry - I've been missing in action a bit lately (wasn't buried under piles of clutter though in case anyone was worried:D )

DD2's birthday last week so lounge looks remarkably decluttered - now trying to keep it that way. Unfortunately OH's idea of tidying means actually moving the clutter to the garage - however that will have to stop as there's no more room:o

Daughters bedroom was decluttered by means of scooping everything up that was on the floor and putting it into black sacks in the loft - to be sorted one bag at a time.:o

But on the plus side I tidied 2 kitchen drawers - why have we got FOUR boxes of matches (all full) and two Linda McCartney freezer scrapers...:rotfl: and three and a half sets of salad servers - the half is the set I really like  - no idea where the other half to it went - shall have to hope it turns up as I do the kitchen.

Off to check my ebay account - have sold 8 out of 58 and over a day to go.....:j

    Happy decluttering everyone.

I really need to get back on track with this :o. We're doing some work in our bathroom atm so it's all a bit of a mess in our house - hopefully will finish it all and tidy tonight.

Then have some visitors for a few days but next week I'm going to really get back to decluttering, we did get a shelving unit in IKEA last week for all my craft bits, which I've now almost sorted and my craft area is now looking so much better so that's something.

Inspiration... I am shifting large electrical appliances around this afternoon and having hubby put up some coat hooks behind the door in the back room at the weekend.. and maybe a few shelves for shoes

I am also going to hit the bedrooms today.. after the electrical stuff is moved about.. I WILL have some junk gone before Santa brings a whole load more!!

I will also be looking at a new desk and shelving for the bedrooms..

I have ordered loads of christmas presents so I will have to make room for those in my room before Friday.

    Out

2 binbags of stuff DD1 is taking round to the charity shop when she surfaces
I have an empty wheelie bin to fill as well which I am aiming to get done today with junk from the bedrooms.. that won't be difficult!!

Potentially.. 3 children who have spent the last 15 minutes arguing.. job time for the 3 of them I think!!

  • Hi All,

Ok, finished lurking, time to declutter so can I join in too please?
Better late than never. I keep decluttering and it keeps coming back - must be boomerang clutter. You've all done so well, I'm hoping I can keep up!

    Present state of affairs:

    In: Too much

Out: Not enough but I have gathered some stuff to list on ebay, just need to find the time (and the will) to list it all.

    IN:
    - groceries
    - couple more Christmas presents
    - more clothes :o (went shopping with our guest)

    OUT:
    - charity shop backlog
    - finally delivered old tv to new home
    - small bag of junk from bathroom cupboard
    - pile of stuff to DD in college house

House is significantly clearer & far easier to deal with, but I still don't feel 'clutter free' .

I think I need to be a bit more radical (eg go through the book cases methodically) and also start to list what is in each cupboard as 'stock control' - we had 8 bottles of mouthwash, enough binbags to last till March but ran out of loo roll!
