    IN: case of wine :o

OUT: umpteen unwanted 'ornaments' (wish people wouldn't give me things which need dusting and have no other function); more books; more unwanted clothes; more junk (all to charity shop)

Good day at Gers' decluttering towers.

I haven't posted on here for a couple of weeks, but I've had an *amazing* time of it clearing the garage. I did a couple of hours myself one Saturday, and by the end I had a sackful of rubbish, and could stand upright in the middle. Then a friend took a load of techie rubbish to the recycling tip - there was a pile of that. Then my sister and I spent 4 woman-hours last weekend - empty boxes flattened and recycled, furniture stored in a space saving way, old plasterboard and ends of DIY projects either thrown away or recycled. It was brill - we filled her 5 door hatchback to the brim with stuff to take to the tip, including an old lightstand (and by old I mean about 50 years old ......). Really pleased. There were two binbags full of paper that I'd shredded but forgotten about, and the recycling men collected that yesterday.

    New book
3, maybe 4 Christmas presents (undecided as to what to do with 1 of them)
2 beautiful scrap books at a bargainous £3.99 each! :D (More stuff - nooo!)

    Out:

Money - I shouldn't have gone near the shops! I went to buy 1 Christmas present, then went for a look around to suss out some hard-to-find cake moulds that a colleague told me about (even though I don't really need them and can't afford them). I then found those gorgeous scrap books: how do you resist a bargain that good? I'm sure I've seen similar ones retailing for £25+. But I shouldn't have bought them as they are not a necessity. Argh! Bad Pickle!

Someone make me feel better! :o
