Legal and General + Quidco

Hi,

I am student aged 20,with 2 more years left, I am currently looking for cunning ways to make money.

I spotted this on Quidco
http://www.quidco.com/legal-general-isas/
and
http://www.legalandgeneral.com/investments/

£110 seems like a pretty good deal

I have enough money to immediately start an account (£500)

I am well aware that my money will probably be locked up for at least 12 months, probably 5 years. However an extra £110 is pretty good plus any interest. The only caveat that I am perturbed by is in the "Risks" section stating that:

"Both capital and income values may fall as well as rise and are not guaranteed. You may not get back the money you invested."

Also they have several options for ISAs. I was wondering also if any could dispense some info.

Thanks
Have a nice day :D

Better to go down the £50 a month route when applying (You can stop payments after just a few months, once the bonus is paid) This has worked nicely for me and the L&G offer is discussed widely on related threads on this forum.

Agree with Milarky. I went for the £50 pm on an ISA which invests in bonds. Not the most exciting or rewarding of investments but I got the £110 so I'm well up on the deal. I had to raise an enquiry with Quidco when it didn't track properly. They were brilliant and sorted it out in a couple of days.
  • Thanks,

Should I try and play "hard and fast" and place £500 in imediately into one of the market listing ISAs (may not be a good idea as the global economy is a bit poo at the moment) or £50pm into the bonds ISA like KJE.

My finacial situation is that I would not need the £500 for the next current year (yes I am a lucky student), so the £500 would stay there. However the £50pm option would be pulled as soon as cashback is claimed.

My other accounts at the moment are with KE (got a 12-month lock in till June 09 @ 7.15%GR and a high interest deposit @ 6.36% used as intermediate) (applying for tax exemption form)

  • Which one of the following best describes your objective?...

    1. Bag £110 cashback and to hell with the investment

    2. Bag £110 cashback and hope for a profit on the fund after 12 months

    3. Develop a long-term relationship with L&G...the £110 cashback is just a bonus
  • Option 2

Is probably the one I am after, if it seems like the account is a good performer I will stick with it.
