PC problem {Kette Drive}

This morning I tried signing on to the PC and had message "The user profile service, service failed the logon" "The profile cannot be loaded"
I managed Through the Boot disc to go to an earlier restore point that has let me log on with my user name and everything seems to be OK except when I turn the PC off then restart I get a Black screen with "Kette Drive 0 seek failure" press F1 or F2
After I press either it then puts me to the sign on screen and from there no problem, everything loads and runs
Has anyone any idea what this does?? and how !! in very simple terms} I can stop this screen appearing each time.
The only thing I know is that as before I shut down last night I had a windows update show on toolbar and on checking prior to my restore it showed that had been installed as far as I could see. I have NOT added any new programs and have good Virus and Firewalls in place. Please help
Thanks in advance

sounds like the floppy diskette drive is broken (assuming you have one) is the light on the front illuminated all the time?"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Hi Shadowdragon
That is one thing that has NEVER been in the PC. I have a Dell dimension C521 got direct from Dell about 17 months ago but I did not have a Floppy drive installed.
Up until this morning everything has run Ok {as I said before} it is only since I did the System restore that this message has appeared. It seems strange to me but I am too worried to do another restore {to see if it clears} as I would not want to go through what I did this morning. As a Silver surfer I had to get my son to look at it and it was only by chance he found the way to get the Restore screen to show

Also {I dont think it makes any difference} but I have Vista loaded0

yeah go into bios and disable "Floppy seek" (if I remember correctly) It may have enabled it on the restore.
Or the Boot sequence has floppy disk above your Harddrive in the boot list.
These things can be accessed via your BIOS settings - at start up press...hmmm mines "Press Delete to enter BIOS" some could be F2, not sure which it would be on your machine."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Not that I know. I will get my son to have a look tomorrow and post up what he finds. I believe that if it has been enabled by accident he will know what to do to disable it {I HOPE} but one way or another I will let you know on here tomorrow what the outcome is, as I personally do not like it when i am trying to help someone and I never find out if it has worked
Thanks again for trying to point me in the right direction0 -
Hi shadowdragon
Just the update I said I would do. You were correct the restore DID enable the floppy seek. I have now disabled it and everything now seems to be working OK.
Thank you very much for your help with my problem and I know that this is the board to come to if I have problems in the future. Thanks again0
