Ideas for a photo show?

My parents are having a diamond wedding party. I am in the process of collecting photo's from family & friends, scanning them onto a flash drive, then I want to display them as a background slideshow on the night. What is the best way to display them? I once went to a party where the DJ took photo's. then showed them through his laptop onto a big screen. Is there a way I can do this? Or can I display them onto a blank wall? Any suggestions appreciated

you will obviously need a projector if you want a massive screen, and these can be pointed at the collapsable white screens or work just as well on a light coloured wall (white, cream, or variations that dulux sell!!)"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

I think a projector is too expensive and will get in the way, a large screen and a projector some metres away with people/kids standing in the way and a darkened room for best conditions, not really the best way and some people missing the start, etc,,,At the end of the evening there is nothing to show for all the hard work. Have you heard of Bobs books?. Very nice hard back book with all your pictures and words printed for all to see. BOBBOOK0

PictureGO
Irfanview
both are good slideshow viewers.
picasa has a slideshow built in.
Our TV has a VGA input but the result isn't great.
A projector would be a good idea hooked up to your PC/Laptop. You just need to find one to borrow.0 -
A friend has offered to lend me a projector now. Its got a USB connector so I can display it through my laptop. He suggested using Powerpoint. Now, I've never used this, but I'll give it a go. I've had a dabble with it, but in the instructions, it tells me how to create a slideshow, but only from individual pictures. Well, it would take me ages to do it like that. Does anyone know how to import a whole folder of pictures into Powerpoint?:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

Should be a wizard but why use Powerpoint Windows can slideshow your "My Pictures" folder and any sub folder shoved in "My Pictures", on the left hand side theres a "View as slideshow" option. No need to mess on with PP."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"
