I suspect the OP means "one to two years"; not 6 months.

I aggree BB have a good price fixed bond. I was planning on opening a bond with Bradford and Bingley at 6.7% having already opened a Kaupthing Edge account at 7.15%. I figured BB had the next best rate, taking out all the foreign banks that were not covered by the FSA etc.

However not sure if I should be worried about doing a fixed rate bond with BB and they seem to be going down the pan? BB shares just keep falling. I would be putting less than 35K in the insitution so I should be covered if they go bust but......

As of this evening all fixed rate bonds have disappeared from The Cheshire BS. Checked earlier today and they were still advertising the latest rate which was of 6%.
