renewal time baby! decisions?

Right then folks, just had my insurance renewal through on the following:
Male
25yrs Old
5yrs No Claims (Not Protected)
Golf mk2 8v GTi
Value £1500
Mileage Limit 12,000miles
TPFT
The renewal premium has come in at £274 with Adrian Flux. Not bad I thought.
I then played about with www.confused.com and can get the following deals:
£232.02 as above but with www.swiftcover.com
£267.74 as above but with Protected No Claims
£266.71 Fully Comp (not protected) £400 excess
£353.66 Fully Comp (protected) with Autodirect
Also if I go through www.quidco.com I will earn £45 cashback if i go with Swiftcover and there's also the £25 voucher if I use a code that's floating about
So it looks like a good deal, although Adrian Flux have said they will guarantee to beat any price, although I doubt they will beat the cashback.
So it looks like the £267.74 premium is the one to go for, my question is what benefits are obtained if I decided to pay extra again and go fully comp?
The only thing I can think of is windscreen cover which I may want to take advantage in the near future as my mk1 could do with a windscreen when it's back on the road and the policy is swapped.
Will I be able to drive other vehicles now I am 25yrs old? My renewal (TPFT) states that driving of other cars benefit is included
As my vehicle is only worth £900, there's not much point in getting fully comp is there?
Finally, anyone have any experience with swiftcover?
what are their fees for changing vehicle mid-term?

I wouldn't encourage anyone to take cover with swiftcover at any price - they're an awful insurance company. (do a search on here)
They should list their benefits. You won't know if you have driving other cars until you take out cover.
You can't claim for a windscreen on a future policy if it's actually broken now.
You'd be better off protecting your no claims bonus that paying for fully comp with a £400 excess on a car worth £900

I have done a search and they seem reasonable for an internet based company. Bear in mind people always quote the negatives, no-one reports good experiences

Sure you can! You simply don't declare it now ;-) It's not like they come and assess the vehicle

Decided to go with TPFT now anyway. Just not sure whether to protect it? people often say it's not worth protecting

Delaying the claim for a windscreen until you have insurance cover is fraud

thought I'd give swiftcover a chance, so went ahead with them today
£45 quidco
£25 Voucher
So the insurance including legal cover came to £195 or thereabouts.
Happy days!!!0 -
Let's just hope nothing happens to you

well people often report their bad experiences yet you hardly hear of the good stories.
I guess your in the former group lol0 -

i have worked in insurance for a number of year, though in motor only for the last 4 and the reputation that s*1tcover have not just within the industry but with customers defies belief. Yes they are cheap, but you pay for what you get, customer service is nonexistent and I dont know anyone who has been with them more than a year (there must be some though)
also why is the security certificate on their website always out of date?
Described at best as incompetant, at worst as chancers0
