Hover or one with wheels mower?

My garden is on a hill and is really bumpy, what would be the best lawn mower to get? Wheeled one or a hover?

Thanks in advance :)

  • Hover, if it is steep, but you won't get stripes in your lawn

Dont really care about stripes! :D It is quite steep, wish i had a handrail sometimes lol The flowers seem to like it through! Was thinking about a hover anyway because of the bumps.

I find that a wheeled mower does a better job on bumpy ground. They are also easier to handle on a hill (imop), mow across the hill, rather than up and down.
But if you do buy a hover, get one with the highest rated motor possible, to get as much lift as possible. Nothing worse that a hover, that doesn't hover.

When I worked in grounds we used a hover for steep hills, we would tie a strong rope to the handle and stand at the top of the hill and cut the grass, some of the guys moved the hover from side to side while pulling upwards and some just walked along from one side to the other and then back. I t was certainly safer than standing on sometimes slippy surfaces

Which ever one you chose, remember safety first.

A friend was mowing a slope and his foot slipped. Because he was leaning backwards to hold onto mower, his foot slipped down the slope and his reflex was to hang on tight to the mower as his hands came up..................... !! This was a serious accident.

    Be careful.
  • a hover one is best!
