Dual Fuel with Scottish Power

Options
Hi,

I recently signed up for Scottish Power Fixed til August 2009. I have received a letter from them to say that they will take £57 a month DD from my bank account. I noticed shortly afterwards that a Scottish Power DD was set up on my back account. So far as good.

Very recently, a Scottish Power Gas DD has been set up on my bank account.

I suppose that is the correct way of doing things - one payment for gas and one for electric.

I am now confused as they said they were taking £57 from my account monthly. How will they divey it up between the two DD's?

I'm sure that anyone already with Scottish Power for both their gas and electric will be able to provide me with an answer.

I am with scottish power fixed price until 2011. I pay by DD £69.50 a month. They do not divide the amount between the two. They just deduct the amount of gas and electricity use from the monthly direct debit, it's all in one payment. My daughter has just set her with EDF and she pays gas £50 and elelctricity £40, 2 DD's have been set. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I will have to contact them tomorrow to see what is going on.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • I switched from Ebico, but the electric was transferred over 8 days before the gas. It could be that they intend to charge separately because of the time difference.

Will ring them tomorrow and see what is going on.

I only switched my electric to Scottish Power on price fix until 2011 - previously was with British Gas, before that EDF.

However I left my gas with Ebico (previously with EDF) as there was no way I was going to pay over 80% more on the chance gas prices might go up by over 80% and therefore paying over 80% more for the months when it hasn't gone up.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
