  • thank you shelly. I also see some (but only a few) come with heat control and timers. Are these something one needs to variy the cooking time..? Thanx

oh i see your one does. Do you think this is an advantage to have over other ones with no temp control?

Does this one have a floating hinge? and can you do cheese on toast with it?

    Thanx

This is my first GF grill so can't compare against not having a timer and temp control but I'd guess having those features is a good advantage.
I wouldn't want to be without them now I have them :D

The temp control is good, I whack it on max for bacon because I like it crispy but turn it down a bit for sausages otherwise they get a bit too well done on the outside.

Not sure about cheese on toast but the instructions say you can do toasted sarnies on it.
And yes, it does have a floating hinge which is great for big fat sausages.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

mine has a temp controll and timer. As well as a floating hinge.

But in the recpie book that came with the GF it just says to cook everything on high. Not one thing does it say med or low. Bit odd really putting a temp controll on if its not being used.

mine has timer and temp control on it - use neither of them though !!

Whack it on full and set the timer to 13 mins - check it after 5-10 mins .....

I use a spray oil on mine then dlap the toasties on,

to be precise, you can make cheese toasties, and very nice ones at that, but you cannot make cheese ON toast with them - it has to be closed to work, iyswim.

Love it, cooks chicken breasts in a few minutes - moneysaving too, since it must use less leccy!
