Game Pre-owned games

Been looking for a game for the DS for a present. It's an old one so not many places have it. Found a pre-owned copy in Game today:

Their online price, if they were in stock: £17.99
Their in-store price, if they were in stock: £14.99
Pre-owned price: £24.99

Pointed this out to them, weren't interested, couldn't explain it, that's just what the computer says. !!!!!!.

The lack of stock probably explains the price. They can obviously charge a premium for games that aren't easily available. If they did manage to get stock, I'd be surprised if the price didn't go up.

They probably can't change the price in store and probably have to contact head office.

Sales assistants can't just charge what they feel like even is the prices do seem wrong.

I actually like Game specially the one where we live. Reason we have a cash generators next door to game and you can buy the the wii games in there and sell them at game for more money(so yes they are clueless)

This isn't entirely true. I picked up Ridge Racer 7 brand new about 2 months ago in my local Games World for £9.99. That was better than any online store at that time. You can find some absolute bargains instore .

Are Games World the same people as Game?
    Bought, not Brought
  • Stugib - Game's charging policy is to be competitive with whatever other games stores (or general retailers who happen to sell games like Woolies and HMV) there are in the immediate vicinity.

You can therefore see the same title at different prices in different Game stores. So if you are High Steet shopping it is worth looking at the other retailers.

Blockbuster stores often do preowned DS games at reasonable rates. I got Hotel Dusk for a fiver!

    Thanks.

And to the usual suspects, I wasn't after advice, or asking what my rights were, or claiming they should be forced to sell it to me, or they weren't allowed to do it, it was a simple vent (what the board was set up to do before you turned it into a playground) that they were illogically selling second hand goods at 67% more than they'd be happy to sell the same thing as new, albeit for not having it in stock which is only a temporary block, and the "compooter says no" attitude from the staff.

FWIW my money is on their pre-owned price database not having been updated for this game, given its age. They also had PES2008 - a current game and in stock - at £25 new, £30 pre-owned, so it does happen.
Well wait until its in stock then

If you dont like their prices don't pay them, the only !!!!!! here is you for actually wasting yours and everyone elses time with this post
Well duh that's exactly what I did/will do, that wasn't the point of the OP.

So.....Batman, batman, whose AE are you?

LinasPilibaitisis....Iamthesmartestmanalive? Similar obnoxious posting style, username style, he's been quiet since a few weeks before you unfortunately appeared.
