Dear Sirs,

re Vehicle regn number (insert number or replace this line with their reference)

On (insert date) you sent me a letter, a copy of which is attached, stating that if I returned this vehicle I would owe no further monies to your company. You are now harrassing me for monies in association with this debt which the attached letter clearly shows has been cleared.

Please respond by return to verify that your correspondence, sent to me on (insert dates of latest letters) has been sent in error, and that I do not owe any further money to your company.

If I do not receive confirmation of this by 7th December (random date about 2 weeks after you post the letter) I will be forced to take legal action to stop this harrassment, and to recover costs from you.

I agree with that but the OP has already sent the evidence which they appear to be refuting but I suppose warning them that they now consider the correspondence to be harrassment might do the trick.

Again, do not let the original document out of your possession, even if they say they will only consider the position if they see that, rather than a copy.
