How do I re-program my Sky+ remote after no batteries?

Hi all, I was stupid enought to not replace dead batteries in my Sky+ remote, and although it still controls Sky, it forgotten how to deal with the TV.

I have a 5 year old Bush TV (from TESCO I believe).

Can anyone guide me through getting the administrators screen up on Sky, and towards th correct code for the TV (non-widescreen, 28 inch).

Thanks lots!

The code needs to be entered in the remote and not the TV menus.

Your TV could be any of the following codes (just try them one by one until one works):

    246, 263, 377, 037, 064, 065, 310, 300, 383, 399, 391, 402, 339, 547, 292, 239, 389

    To enter:

    1. Turn on the TV

    2. Press TV on the Sky Remote Control

    3. Hold down SELECT and the RED buttons together for approximately two seconds, until the RED LED on the Sky remote blinks twice.

    4. Enter three digit code from the above list (some versions will flash twice).

    5. Press select - the LED will flash twice if a valid code has been entered.

    6. Now press the OFF button to see if your TV turns off. If it does switch it back on and then try other buttons to check that they all work (if they don't it is the wrong code)

Repeat if necessary until a code is found that works most common functions.

Ah yes, thanks for the reply, I found a site that detailed this very thing. Sorted now.

    Thanks!

I believe that the control is programmed to the make of tv. When you first got Sky did you have the same tv you have now or have you changed it? Each tv has a code and you have to program that in to make it control the tv as well. Post 2 tells you how to do this - think the original Sky booklet that comes when you get it installed has a list of all the codes for each make and model of tv set.

It probably has the wrong code in it. When you first set it up you probably didn't check volume once you found a code which turned the TV off successfully.

First, find out what code you are using (in case none work and you want to go back).
    Sky+ Remote "blink back"

    1. Press the TV button on the Sky remote

    2. Hold down Select and the Red buttons together for approximately two seconds, until the Red LED on the Sky remote blinks twice.

    3. Key in 990 on the remote.

    4. Wait until the Red LED blinks twice, then key 1 (no LED response)

    5. Key in 2 on the numeric keypad and count the number of times the Red LED blinks. The number of blinks will indicate the first digit of the code

Note that a 0 is represented by no blinks where you press the key.

    6. Input 3 on the numeric keypad and count the blinks to identify the second digit of the code.

    7. Input 4 on the numeric keypad and count the blinks to identify the third digit of the code.

    8. Write it down and keep it safely.

Now, these are all the Hitachi codes. Try them one by one using the following instructions, and once you find one which turns the TV off switch it back on and check the volume and if it doesn't work keep going.

    253 384 377 173 606 469 591 509 065 071 072 064 060 133 137 224 245 255 191
