Parents: FREE MONEY from Your Council!!

Birmingham City Council will give any parent (living in Birmingham) using cotton reusable nappies £30 on production of an original receipt (over£30) and confirmation from a Health Professional that they have seen the child in resuables.

Maybe your council does too?

  • Warwickshire County Council run 'Nappucino' mornings (go along for a coffee, get some freebies, get 10% off reusable nappies) as well as a £25 cashback offer. See this link for more info on both:

staffordshire will send you a cheque for £30. you register for the scheme, your health visitor signs the 'proof' and you send it off, that's all you need. you don't need a receipt, i didn't have one because i bought my nappies from ebay.

Could you print out something from ebay e.g. one of the emails?

There are no incentives here but are in two neighbouring Local authorities. When I had my first child they didn't have an incentive scheme where we lived - but they do now! They'll probably introduce one here as soon as we stop using nappies!

i suppose i could have pritned ebay info out yes, i didn't need to for the scheme my council runs though, they just want proof that you're using washables - they could be the old terries you wore yourself for all they care - as you're not filling your wheelie bin with disposables they'll give you the incentive.

bad luck, would your council start a scheme if you asked? they can't really want you to use disposables, it costs them money to dispose of them.

Whoops sorry I somehow managed to completely misread your post and thought you said you couldn't get the incentive!

some schemes work differently though so there are probably people who would need to print out ebay receipts :-)

is it just one payment of £10? mine used to give £10 but you could claim it 3 times at different ages of the baby. now it's simpler and it's just the one payment of £30.
