mistake in my favour! how long before im safe?

Had a credit balance of £150 on my Halifax credit card due to some refunds. I asked them to transfer it to my Halifax bank account. They didnt do it, so i called back and asked again. Yet again it wasnt done, i called a third time to have it done. Seven days later, i check my balance and they have transfered it three times! oh well, simple mistake. I keep the original £150 and transfer the £300 back.

I go to check my Halifax credit card expecting the balance to be £0..its not..its now £450 in credit!?!? How long would you wait before you can take if for granted that its not been noticed? 7 - 14 days? a month? three months? six months?

If you leave it you will also be liable for any interest.

If I were you I would tell them and save the inveitable hassle later on.

The money is NOT yours legally if it has been put into your account in error and they are entitled to it back.

yer, thats fair enough i suppose. the money isnt in my actual bank account is is on my credit card. they had transfered it back to my bank account as requested and i sent it straight back, its just that the balance of my credit card didnt decrease after the transfers left...but your right, if i leave it im asking for hassle really
