Insurance- unable to work!

HI, hope this is in the right place, not good at the techie stuff.
I have been on long term incapacity for a while, my employers paid into a policy to cover employees, so consequently I have been receiving a small monthly payment from the insurers as I am unable to work.
Apparently, the insurers pay my employer and in turn my employer pays me the money monthly. This is to be paid until I am 65, I believe work did ask the insurers to pay me direct but the insurers said that they had to pay my employer as they were the ones who paid the policy.
It now appears that my place of employment is closing down, so my question is, will the insurer still have to pay me once my place of work ceases?
If they say they cant pay me direct after my firm closes, would I be entitled to pay the premiums (depending on cost) to carry on to receive the monthly payments?
Many thanks

Hi
Thanks for ur reply.
By saying that I will have to ask them, do u mean that it will not be obligatory for them to pay me and it is at their discretion?
Thanks0 -
You will have to ask them how they intend to pay it with the company closing. There are usually proceedures for this sort of thing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
