Nectar and Best Western Hotels

I have been booking my parents a weekend away at a Best Western Hotel.
While I was searchign for the best deal for the one that they were wanting to stay at I noticed that nectar did deals with Best Western. On enquiring over the phone I discovered that it was going to cost more if I used my nectar points than it was if I didnt. The woman I spoke to actually advised me to save my nectar points as it wasnt worth using them for the hotel stay!
Its a bit of a rip off when it will cost you more to use nectar vouchers than not to use them!
