A&L card protection...oh yeah.

I phoned up the number to activate my debit card today. All very efficient. Then the woman said "we've got a special offer today on card protection" blah blah blah. I said "I'm not wanting that".
Then she said "oh, but what are you going to do if your card is stolen " etc etc

so I had to say "please don't try to sell me anything, I don't want it, I've just phoned up to register the card".

Do all banks now use every call as a marketing opportunity? Pisses me off.

I'd have loved it if someone said that to me. "I'll phone you up and cancel it, won't I?" would probably be my answer. Unless i had time to structure a more witty rebuke.

yes and usually most times you go into the branch they try to sell you something over the counter
