Seems highly wrong that the most expensive house takes the smallest hit, surely it should be the other way around?

Well, the website does not say which houses gets what hit. In fact, there's virtually nothing there on the website, except some address-harvesting pages.

Basically, the idea is that they will get lots of punters to sign up, giving the names of their professional advisers. The advisers will then get pressured into subscribing (and paying fees???) to the website. Say you're a seller and you get told that you can't get on the website because your agent won't sign up with them? You'll be onto your agent like a ton of bricks. After all, any joining fees will cost the agent money, not the seller. Hopefully, the website can get the whole thing snowballing before anybody realises that it's got no substance at the moment whatsoever.

I am also inclined to think that the idea won't work, because it's simply far too complicated. They somehow think that they can construct chains out of people, simply because they want to buy/sell in the right location. What if people don't like the houses? In any case, they'll need to get an awful lot of buyers and sellers on their books to be able to construct any sensible chains.

It all kind of smells like an advance fees scam ... but of course that's just a vague suspicion. I have no proof whatsoever.

I don't understand what they are offering. (The picture I get.)

If the chain is already in place what need of the site?

If house prices are already falling - a quick look on propertysnake for my area shows price reductions between 12% and 17% - won't the market just find a new lower level and start again.

Or are they trying to force the new lower level more quickly on those that can afford the drop least while keeping the rich folks at the top artificially clinking with only a 2% drop?

Or is it just another intermediary trying to skim as much as possible for doing as little as possible? Maybe she has a big house to sell?

What a thought! Beeney's a saint and doing this to help people out of the goodness of her heart. Wash your mouth out with soap.

  • In any housing market, but moreso a difficult one, there needs to be a chain manager. Someone who talks to everybody in the chain and who is empowered to act on the chain members behalf, to ensure that the chain completes.

I think it's a great idea (and one that I had many years ago).

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
  • Beeny is also an expert at how to avoid the "Krusty 'n Phil" public opinion fall-out.

 What better way to do this than to announce that sellers should lower their prices.

Which Krusty 'n Phil can't exactly do.

Remind me again what the title of Sarah's property programme is. Property snake? Or was it something slightly different :rotfl: :rotfl: ?

How many chains are going in this market....not a lot....about three years too late i am afraid,
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
