Hi there,
I am going to sound like a right whinger now, but I am not prepared to lie to you when you've asked me outright.
The Alonza is by far inferior to the Juliette.
The chaise doesn't have anything to attach it to the sofa part - so it often moves apart (it'd perhaps be Ok if it fitted snugly into a 3 walled gap, lol).
When you pull the bed out there is a big gap (2-3 inches or more) between the chaise part and the bed.
The bed isn't "going in" properly and is kind of hanging out by an inch or more at one side.
The chaise creaks when you sit on it (due to the under chaise storage) and I'm paranoid that the sofa has started to dip in the middle already (after approx. 2- 3 weeks use) but I may be imagining that.
I can see another phone call to Argos in the next week or so - I'm just trying to muster up the mental and emotional energy!

i had an issue with an argos suite and the CS actions a while ago, an email was sent detailing all the issues i had to the CEO and chairman and my issues were dealt with very swiftly and satisfactorily. I made a point of emphasising the good as well as the bad......if you wish to go down this route then pm me for the email addresses!Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

id ask for a full refund and be done with it. i do not understand why you would want another sofa from argos? fair enuf its alot of effort to get a new one, but why would you want another quality argos product after your experience?
cut your losses now, argos stuff is terrible quality... get a refund.
drag it out as long as you can, get an order in for a new sofa now, and tell argos they can collect the old one when the new one is delivered from another place.
look on ebay etc or local ebay places for someone who can deliver quicker. We got a sofa in under 2 weeks, so it shouldnt be that hard.
bite the bullet and seperate all connections from argos.

Hi there,
I'm glad you didn't get it! Phew!
*****
Well, we had the upholsterer out again on Friday, the Alonza was delivered on the 30/9/08 so it was about 3.5 weeks old when he came and he couldn't believe how little time we'd had it. He said it was obvious manufacturing problems and that it was 'as if the bed frame has been twisted somehow when it was being made'.
I've decided that the bed settee idea is never going to work and have decided to split my large L-shaped living room. I've bought a lovely bed and have two wooden screens/dividers arriving tomorrow. I'm going to insist on a refund from Argos and get a nice leather corner group sofa.
The upholsterer (off the record) told me that nowadays it's sheer luck on buying a decent sofa. He named a load of big firms and said the quality is pretty much average. He also said that he's regularly viewing £3,000 - £4,000 suites and that although the leather and seat padding is nicer the frame work is identical to cheaper sofas. Grrrr!
I just hope we're luckier next time ... even though we've got half the living room we once had! Needs must!
Hushy

I phoned C.S today after our upholsterers visit a week past Friday.
I have been told ALL they are offering me is a replacement Alonza (even though I told them I didn't want one and had no faith in their sofa beds now). This was from a manager on their 'escalations team' who also assured me there is no higher power which would/could over ride that decision.
I am so upset over this - totally gutted. They weren't budging though (even after a long, long argument) so we'll need to just hope the next one isn't faulty.
