Garmin Oregon for Crete? Mac User

I need a GPS unit that can tell me where I am on the island of Crete. I don't plan to go off-road and it will be used both inside and outside the hire car.
I don't think any standard "TomTom" or "Garmin" route finders will be suitable (no maps) so I think I may need to use something like a Garmin Oregon - although I'm not certain that I can find a Crete map for that, either!
As I use an Apple Mac (which Garmin software supports) I'm a bit limited for choice.
Anyone got a (sensible) suggestion?
