Is there a free own website + forum schools & work can view?

I have ended up with info in 4 places and wondered if there's any way of just having one free website with the lot on that is not banned by workplaces/schools etc.
1st website is Freewebs - cannot be seen by certain workplaces
Attached to Freewebs site is a Proboards forum - banned by a lot of places
Freewebs site has photos limit so I got a Piczo site in order to host pics.
4th site is Bravenet & has similar info to Freewebs site, I just tried it to see if it's any better but find it complicated to use.
So is there such a thing as a free website that I can get all in one but is unlikely to be banned or is that just asking too much?
If I change sites is it possible to transfer forum info to another forum (it sounds unlikely but maybe.....?)
Thanks

You could buy your own domain for a few pounds and then use a free web host to put your forum on. That way your new domain name is likely to be not blocked at your establishment. Very well known free forum sites are likely to be blocked, as you said.
With regard to copying a forum to a forum. It depends what forum type your using e.g. fusion, phpbb, nuke. There should be a setting to back up your forum and then you can upload the backup to another forum. A little tricky but possible.0 -
So is the only way to get a forum that would be accessible to all to pay for it? If so has anyone got any recommendations?Torgwen..........

Just to clarify.
You can buy a .co.uk domain e.g. fransforum.co.uk for about £6.08 for two years.
You then point your domain to a free host e.g. jamroll.co.uk which will host your forum completely free. Infact you have complete control with your site, you can put a website up and all your pictures.
Total cost = £6.08 for two years.

Be aware (before spending dough), the schools content filters does learn and most schools set it to block forums (at least the 4 I'm involved with all do and I've been told that its a borough wide thing). So it may be ok to start off, but may dissapear when its "discovered".
One other thought (and it really depends on what you're trying to do) is something like the London grid for learning or moodle. Fairly specific school sites, but allow you your own little subset of pages?

Try http://www.filefarmer.com/ they do a free account where you could do what you want to do (as long as its not blocked from schools/work etc... which i dont think it is, at least so far).0

I would take the risk. I've been "blocked" from using stuff when I was at school, university and work but small things like your own domain are not going to ever become as popular and widespread as free forum services.
Moodle totally skipped my mind. My gf is a student teacher and uses it with her university groups. Its ja simple/free forum if thats all you want and you won't need to pay anything. On the other hand it's not going to do anything else and you won't have the option to migrate your existing forum.0
