Hi If someone is claiming child benefit for 18 year old would they be asked to provide proof of F.E. or do child benefit people just take their word?

They ask(if i remember right)for details of the college being attended and confirmation that they are studying full time(over 13.5 hours per week)0

do you think that is possible to say that your 18 yr r old is at college and get away with it? (No, not me or mine, just someone I know! who maybe saying that their kin is in FE to be able to collect CSA)
