Just switched to Npower (and thay raised their prices)- what do I do now?

Hi all,

just joined the forum and would like to have some advice as I am sort of stuck.
I switched gas and electricity suppliers in early September and after an excessively slow process on Nov 21 (3 months it took them!!!) Npower will take over the previous suppliers.
In the meantime I missed out savings over these past months and Npower has conveniently (for them) raised their prices from the 1st Jan 2006.
I am now in stuck with the following doubts:
Do I stick with them for the next year to benefit from their 60 pounds discount or do I switch as soon as possible to a cheaper supplier now? Powergen would look cheap now, though I would not like to find myself in a similar situation two momths from now, with Powergen raising the prices again.
Also, would I incur in any obstruction/penalty from Npower for switching right away?
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,

Teo

Without intending to be facetious, you might as well flip a coin; as nobody knows the answer to your first question?

As for your second question. Between obstruction by NPower and incompetence by Powergen, I suspect your 3 month delay last time will seem like express service.

Teo - it took me about two months to switch from BG to London Electric (A great misnomer - they're French and they do gas too!) so your experience isn't unusual. The whole delay process means it is a bit of a lottery. Especially so if you change, as I did, in the summer when the benefits of any change are minimal!!
As the benenfits to be gained at this time of year are greatest, if Martin's energy calculator shows a big saving to be made elsewhere, I would be inclined to vote with my feet.........
    Good luck!
