i cannot find a referee for my student finance

hi,
i have been living in the uk for just three years i have a full residency and am a student. i am about to apply for student maintenance grant and a student loan but i need a reference from a person of good standing with a british passport ie priest teacher doctor etc. i donot know any of these people having only been here a short while, i have a doctor but have never seen him so he cannot sign to say he has known me for two years which is whats required. can i pay a solicitor to do this?? even my tutors at uni have only known me a year. there must be a way surely!! any help appreciated.

You can't pay a solicitorto lie that say that s/he's known you for longer than is true! Do your parents have any friends that would come into any of these categories?0

Do you have an employer? You could ask them.
Or if you a religious person could your faith leader sign it? It would not matter if they were not a Christian priest, as long as they have a British passport.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Hi,
I'm assuming this is the birth certificate declaration form which you need signing? The only other way around this is to send your own passport to confirm your identity (you have a choice of birth cert or passport), you then wouldn't need to send your birth certificate, nor have someone confirm your identity!0 -
Loads of people are "of good standing" and so can confirm your identity. Ask one of your tutors, and bring in your passport to show them.0
