How soon can I go back?

Options
It's nearly time for me to find another 0% balance transfer card.
Halifax are doing one for 12 mths with a 2% capped handling fee and Capital One have one till 1/1/07 with an uncapped handling fee.
The long interest free period appeals to me as I'm hoping to almost clear it in this time!
I paid off a Halifax card in July 2004 but it wasn't cancelled till March 2005. Does anyone know if they would let me have another card now or is it too soon after the last one was cancelled?
I've also had a Capital One card in the past but I think that was at least 18 mths - 2 yrs ago.
I don't really want to go risk unnecessary credit checks if there is no point!

Capitalone will treat you as a new customer almost as soon as you close the old card. IIRC Halifax will treat you as a new customer after somewhere around 6 to 8 months. Call them and ask.
