  • Hi Benefit do a creamy concealer in a flat circular pot that looks a bit like a skin coloured eye make-up. It is really for under the eyes, but I used to use it on my lids and it did a fair job of covering up one of those deposit lumps that you are talking about.

However I eventually had mine removed, and honestly it was a walk in the park. Really, when i first enquired the doc (a dermatologist) talked about burning it off with acid and how it would probably leave a scar worse than the lump - scared me rigid and I was outta there. Fast forward 7 years, techniques improved and my GP referred me to plastic surgeon specialising in facial disfigurements (sounds awful I know and some of his patients in the waiting room made me feel ashamed to be there wasting his time). He was lovely and one of his registrars did my eyelid as an outpatient, and you cannot even see where it was, no scar no nothing.

People who knew me kept asking if I'd had my eyebrows shaped, or lost weight, or had a new hair cut - they just couldn't put their finger on the change, but they knew I looked better.

    Best thing I ever did!

Try touche eclat, it's expensive (about £21 but you can get it for £16 in superdrug) but so worth it. I use it on my eyelids and under my eyes (to make a base for my eyeshadow really, and to cover up dark circles) so I would think it would work for you.

It depends how raised the lumps are. If the lumps are small, more like grains of rice than a noticeable fatty deposit, then Touche Eclat would probably do the trick. It didn't work for me as I had quite a large fatty deposit on my eyelid and it couldn't camoflage the bump (though I do use it on the black circles under my eyes, and I agree it is brill!).

I find bare escentuals bisque is a good cover upper - evens out around the eyes nicely

The best thing I've come across (and I've tried everything under the sun:rolleyes: ) is Elizabeth Arden concealer. I think it comes in 3 shades and I use the middle one. It's in a square black "compact" with a small magnifying mirror in the lid and is thick & easy to apply. It costs £14 but would last for ages because you need so little. For me, the Benefit stuff comes a very close second but of course we all have different skin tones, textures etc.

Lazydaisy - do you mind me asking how long ago you had yours removed?
A few months ago my GP told me that this is not something they can do as "minor surgery" at the health centre & they do not do it on the NHS any more. He said it wouldn't cost much and referred me privately.

They wanted £350+ to do it!!!!!!!

Hi Barjam - no they don't as far as I know, because I asked too!!

However, if you go into one of the big stores that has a EA counter and explain what you want it to conceal they will do their very best.

I showed the assistant and I think she saw it as a challenge!!:D :D She cleaned off what I already had on (and which was NOT good cover) and then applied this concealer and suggested she put a wee bit of subtle eye shadow on and it looked marvellous. I hesitated because it was £14 and said I'd like to think about it because the bright lights in the store might be making it look better than it was. She was fine about it and I went back for it later because she was so helpful and it DID look fine in the open air.

Big cheers for Elizabeth Arden staff everywhere!! :T
