Vegetable curry pasties work surprisingly well. You can use filo pastry, too, and bake rather than fry, to create samosas, but they're a bit weak, and that can be a problem with finger food.

Hiya, when I made the mince pie's in December I also made vegi adult DD some pasties. I used a small plate to cut the pastry into circles and filled with grated cheese. She loved them and took some for packed lunches. I must make some more.:)
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.
  • Well, for my first batch, I'm going to do vegetarian burger mix made up as per instructions, with added paprika, dried herbs, chopped garlic, grated carrot, finely shredded cabbage, a squirt of tomato puree and some tinned sweetcorn. We'll see how they go!

When my children were young I used to make them with cubed red Leicester cheese, celery, apple and quite a lot of dry mustard powder. Used half and half wholemeal and white flour. These were really nice either hot or cold.

If you use quorn mince for bolognese type things you can also use this filling in- just leave it simmering till much of the moisture has evaporated
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

I just made these and they seem quite nice. I snaffled one up straight from the oven and it was tasty! Maybe a bit bland, but next time I will up the spices and maybe add a little more garlic.

I also made some with gouda cheese and sundried tomatoes. Smell absolutely divine!!!!

sounds delish! do you use any herbs or spices in that?
Not really. I use a veggie stock cube though (I always use the kallo organic ones.) I have a bay tree though so sometimes I add a bay leaf.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
