Far Cry - problems

I have being playing some of the latest pc games on my Dell XPS420 with vista, and I thought that I'd play my old copy of Far Cry.

However, although it installs ok, when I come to play it the screen is all white as though there is a very powerful light shining on it!! And you can just about make out the landscape.

Any ideas as to why this is happening??

Had a quick google and apparantly theres a PATCH for it

are you shining a very powerful light on your laptop? that could be the cause

Maybe it's the daylight shining out of your ear.

I went on a forum and it fixed a few guys with the EXACT same problem so it should work (in theory )
