Do BT do retention deals?

I've been offered free home phone line rental for 12 months by Sky as part of a retention deal, but I'd rather not leave BT. If I phone BT up and tell them about the Sky offer, will they offer me the a similar deal to try to keep me?

I don't know about phone service alone but BT offered discounts when I told them I was taking my broadband business elsewhere.0

BT are not allowed to deviate from their published price list by Ofcom
