Advice Needed

Hello All
I need some advice please...
My partner pays the BT phone bill so i'm sorry about the sketchy details. We have BT land line and phone and I'm sure we have free weekend calls, caller ID etc etc. However, quarter i think the phone bill was £70 approx. Only i'd say 35% were calls
The thing is we're trying to cut back to save money to have another baby. So what I want is the BASIC BT package. I am not even bothered about a making calls, i just want a land line so i can access the internet (which i get £7.50 from O2)
Now i've had a look and it seems I could just pay £10.50 a month line rental so long as we don't make any calls. Is that true? Is this the cheapest way to do things?
Any advice would be gratefully received

Please click the HERE link in my signature below.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
