The Credit Card companies have joint liability for the transactions and are legally obliged to re-imburse customers as set out under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
I suggest that you remind them of their responsibilities.0 -
Thanks for that info.Further to it could you tell me if the creidt card company re - imburse within a set time period or do they have to wait to find out what happens to XL.0

I don't think there is a set time period. It can take several weeks to process as they will probably try and claim the funds from the administrators of XL.0 -

Even if they do not reimburse immediately, they should 'limbo' the transaction so it is not taken into account for payment or interest calculation purposes.0 -
tesco credit cards are also trying to get out of paying under section 75 by advising going down the atol route ..however atol say if you have payed or part payed by credit card you should claim against your credit card company

Any credit card companies should be putting the amounts into dispute and/or sending out declaration forms for the transactions.0

Getitpaid,
I agree with all the above posters. There have been several threads started on this, so check the others out.
The CCC are liable to pay straight away (or as soon as is reasonable). They should not wait for the outcome of the liquidation. And they should pay the (reasonable) difference for new flights.
Don't despair anyone. Just work through it.0
