Curtains sell well on ebay you could try making them and selling them. Also basic book bag type bags are quite straight forward and always useful to have.0

I was just going to suggest making sock monkeys great minds ehh. I made one the other day by hand and it took me about 4-5 hours, I really enjoyed making it and my ds loved it, so ive borrowed a sewing machine and bought some cheap 3 for £1 socks and im going to do my nieces and nephews one for christmas.0 -
I've also just got a sewing maching (half price at £25 in Mr Ts). My first project will be christmas stockings for the kids - I've seen some really nice looking "folksy" style ones in various kids catalogues but they are expensive and don't look too hard to make. I'm also thinking of making myself a sheet sleeping bag from flannelette sheets as DH doesn't feel the cold but I like the idea of nice cosy bedding after lurking on the preparing for winter thread!0

Just checked out the sock monkeys - they are fab, and are definately going on my list of things to make :j0 -
Ooh I think the sock monkeys look great. I must admit I rather fancy doing a Christmas stocking too. Thanks for the ideas I'd never have thought of these.:T0

Just out of interest, how do you make snuggle sacks?? Not had sewing machine out for ages but I'm liking the idea of snuggles sacks (mainly for the fact they sound so sweet!! Am picturing myself, my dd and the cat all on the sofa in matching sacks!!!!!!!:rotfl: )
Thanks in advance

I was just looking through the Littlewoods brochure and sofa covers are going for an unbelievable £100+ If you could make them I'm sure you could make a bit of money doing that or give them to someone who could make good use of them.0

Hi All
Wondering if any of you guys have ideas for sewing. I bought a new sewing machine and so far have made napkins, table runner and peg bags. Apart from altering clothes such as repairing hems etc which I have also done but I am running out of ideas.
what other ideas are there for easy enough sewing for round the home?
Thanks for your help in advance.0 -
what about having a go at soft toys or dressing dolls and selling them0

Thinking ahead for Christmas, if you are planning on giving homemade gifts, you could male some small drawstring bags for putting gifts in. Or you could use them to made sented sachets for your drawers - or even give them as gifts!0
