Anyone used/booked Lloyds TSB duo 1500 'free' Airmiles?

Has anyone used their 1500 miles voucher? I know that you have to book 1 nights accomadation with them. Do they ties you to booking something connected with your flight destination or can you book any airmiles hotel at any time and ubtelated flight or flights?

Also has anyone got 2 vouchers. From maybe you and your partner. If so is it ok to just book one double room for one night to both qualify?

The terms and conditions seem to allow this 9or not disallow it) but wondered what people expereince in practice.

No experience (have yet to use the voucher) but I understand the hotel booking need not be connected with the flight.

I would guess it's one hotel room per voucher, not per booking. Maybe you each book the same room for a different night?
  • I spoke to an operator and he indicated it was necessary to link it with your destiination but i'm wasn't ready to book so didn't query this. But i did mention about booking something on the departure side and he said this would be ok. So maybehe was just making it up.

as a doubleroom for 2 people is much cheaper than 2 singles whether they would accept a single doubleroom booking for 2 vouchers is probalby a bit optimistic but i'll let you know how it goes when i come to book.

as the rooms are very expensive it does somewhat take the shine of the orginal marketing of 1500 free airmiles!
  • Have just used our vouchers to book to Stockholm in December.

    1) Yes - 2 vouchers, one for me and one for my partner
    2) A hotel room has to be booked per VOUCHER, not per booking.
    3) Dates or destination don't matter - I booked one hotel room the night before we go to Stockholm, and one at a completely different time for a completely different purpose.

The hotels needn't be expensive - part of the reason I didn't book hotel accommodation in Stockholm is the price of the Airmiles hotels in Sweden. However, our London hotel was £55.25 and the other £61.75. Just shop around - cities and dates.
  • One big con have tried various dates and times to use this voucher, flying from manchester plenty of hotels no free flights Tried Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels all the same try to sell you flights on all the other airlines non for British airways. Will write to TSB about this I have 1300 miles plus the voucher I could have been using a cash back card and paid for a flight with the savings.
  • Re My message above Ok BA does not fly to Amesterdam or Brussels from Manchester but they do fly to Paris on the dates I have tried, These flight are avalabele at British airways for £249.40 return. But Airmiles says none Avalable. Con or what?
