This is sooo gonna sound like a lie on here, but i promise you it isn't.
My flat is kinda a weird plan, but basically i have a door coming off my lounge that leads into a square and off the square is the bathroom and 2 bedroom doors. All the flats are the same and next to the door coming off the lounge this leading into the square/hall (whatever you wanna call it) is wall to floor glass (i think probably to let light into the square) its divided into 3 sections.
Now my dog has one of these wiggly giggly ball toys that has rope either side of it, so im home from a course for like 10 mins, he picks it up in his mouth, swing its about and bang, it goes straight through the bottom pane of glass.
What do i do, do i put a claim in on my building insurance??? Im thinking that technically i should as my flat is leasehold and i do not control the building ins, the landlord does so therefore i have a duty to inform the company of what has happened.
Do i get someone to repair it myself? They're gonna have a hard time matching up the pane of glass and its patterned and possibly quiet old.

Before you submit a claim, make sure your policy does not exclude damage from own domestic animals.
Did you not kick the toy by accident? :eek:Reassuringly expensive0 -
Fixed glass is a Buildings issue. You should speak to your landlord, as you have no duty to insure the buildings (and he does) unless you live in Scotland. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0
