I am in need of two new tyres which are an unusual size. the best quote i have had is £49 each but the make is Marshall and i've never heard of them! Has anyone heard of them, are they ok??
Also, any recommendations for getting good tyre prices, websites to look on or tips please?? :money:

Marshall are at the lower end of budget, good price but will need replacing after only a year or so. If you can get a quote for federal steel tyres, they are still budget but good quality for the price and good in wet and dry.

Tyre size will help0

Hi,
My car has unusual size tyres on it which was great fun when they recently needed to be changed...
We called around a few national companies who were all quoting around £200 per tyre *eek* (we were replacing like for like) I then remembered about a small independant tyre place locally - they were 25% cheaper. So check out any independant places would be my advice.0 -

I have always found local independants to be cheaper than any internet site, etyres undercut blackcircles on certain tyres, but it is a rare case of small being best in these cases.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

You could try your luck on eBay.
Last week I bought Firestone Firehawk 205/55/16 with about 6mm for £16 incl delivery.
Earlier this week I bought a newish (still has the coloured line and rubber spikes sticking out) Michelin Premacy 205/55/16. Collected it 15 miles away for only £18.0 -
The paintline means it was intended for original equipment fitting - not for replacement market, irrc, so you got yourself a good deal there!:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Yep, my recent purchase of a couple of tyres back this up.
There must be a high cost element in shipping a couple of tyres to a private address or local garage, plus the admin and if the garage isn't making on the tyre they'll get it in the fitting.0
