Wickes Bathrooms - fail to deliver

Anyone thinking of having a kitchen or bathroom delivered from Wickes should think twice! I ordered a bathroom nearly a month ago, and on the day it was suppossed to have been delivered, the driver apparently could not find a good place to park (I live off a high st) - and so transported my goods all the way back from the south east to Bolton! I am incredulous that their delivery system is so inflexible that they could not try to re-deliver it within 24 hours. Since then I have been trying to get through to the people in their customer services how inconvenient it is to have to wait and take another day off work. But it has been hopeless - all I am being offered is the next delivery date in my area, in the usual 6 hour range. Fuming!

But if he couldn't park on the Highstreet, couldn't you have foreseen that? Should you have given them some warning? You can't give too much information in these situations, only too little. It can't be an easy job.
I think i would have been ringing ,chasing up the delivery time ,and been hovering outside and given him a hand to take it in,if necessary. I think I would also have asked them to give me a ring when they had arrived. But then,I don't have much patience with waiting around for things, and so i prefer to put myself in control of the situation (hindsight is a wonderful thing.)0 -

Be fair holly, how do high street stores that don't have back entrances take delivery? Im sure an experienced driver could find somewhere to pull over and call OP advising of the situation so OP could meet him and take delivery!0 -
A lot of them have to take very early morning /late night delivery.
I do agree the driver could have done more.0
