my husband started work recently after being unemployed for 2 years and we checked out entitled to and our councils website for housing benefit. on the websites they dont take into account working tax credit for the hb and i have been told by working tax credits that it is an extra payment to help you back on your feet . i have been told my housing officer today that it will be taken into account as it is an income does anyone who works in hb know who is right, we are only getting the extra payment for one year and after that it goes back to the normal amount.
thanks

This sounds as though it could be the 50+ element. All tax credit payments are taken in to account as income for HB purposes.0
