Co-op Cashminder for former customers?

  • Rylynn I am afraid that Crapwest do not offer accounts to BR's.

You can open your Cashminder account before you go BR. All you do is tell the OR when you speak to him on the phone the day you go BR that this is the account you opened to go BR. It means you can get all your monetary affairs sorted out nicely before you go BR. The OR will tell the Co-op that he has no interest in the account anyou carry on useing it as normal. There has only been one account closed in recent memory and that was because of a jobsworth OR who was a bit anal.

Nationwide have sometimes been known to let customers keep their basic accounts if they have been customers for a while.

  • Barclays were one of my biggest creditors & they fell over themselves to offer me a basic account...I went with the co-op in the end because they offered me more.....saying that though barclays rang a few weeks ago offered me a full account & pre-approval for a credit card....I promptly declined!....as tigger said the co-op or barclays basic accounts usually dont end up being touched by the OR & i've only known it happen to one person myself....."if" and its a big if any basic account is frozen the OR can easily sort in a few hours

Natwest..sorry crapwest....hmm who knows how they work?....not even them methinks! sometimes they let you keep a basic account others have had accounts closed soon as they find out about BR so its a little patchy/hit & miss
