HD TV - help

I have the chance of getting one of these 2 tv's heavily discounted. The trouble is, i can't see why one is cheaper than the other, especially as the cheaper one seems to have sightly better specs. can anyone enlighten me?

One will be end of line - i.e replaced or soon to be replaced by a newer model. I got my LG TV £200 cheaper because of this and there wasn't really any difference between it and the new model other than some cosmetic changes.

£449 with discount is that correct ?

This is the normal selling price and you may get cheaper buying elsewhere and using cashback sites and codes.

Also 1080p is overkill on a 32" TV imo and it can make normal SD programs look alot worse.

    yeah...one was 449 and the other £399.

All I am after is a decent HD tv for around £500. I dont want a massive one and 32" seemed sensible. although stretching to 37" may be possible.

If you are not sure about these....would you recommend any?

Panasonic Plasmas are the mutts nuts for the price (37")
Dont worry about 1080 ~ 720 looks amazing on them
Bare in mind MOST things will soon be connected via hdmi so id recommend a unit with 3 hdmi sockets on personally (The sony has 2)

As already mentioned, 1080p on a 32'' TV is overkill; you won't tell the difference unless you're a real cinema nut. I'll vouch for Sony; my KDL32s3000 is excellent at 720p/1080i.

With regard to size; the missus nearly feinted when it came out of the box, having upgraded from a 21' CRT, but we both soon got used to it. A few months later and it looks pretty normal, even in a smallish room. Moral of the story: don't be scared to go up a size if you can afford it, it might look like you have a billboard in the front room for a while, but you'll soon love it.
    Super geek.
