I have the chance of getting one of these 2 tv's heavily discounted. The trouble is, i can't see why one is cheaper than the other, especially as the cheaper one seems to have sightly better specs. can anyone enlighten me?

One will be end of line - i.e replaced or soon to be replaced by a newer model. I got my LG TV £200 cheaper because of this and there wasn't really any difference between it and the new model other than some cosmetic changes.0

£449 with discount is that correct ?
This is the normal selling price and you may get cheaper buying elsewhere and using cashback sites and codes.
Also 1080p is overkill on a 32" TV imo and it can make normal SD programs look alot worse.0 -
yeah...one was 449 and the other £399.
All I am after is a decent HD tv for around £500. I dont want a massive one and 32" seemed sensible. although stretching to 37" may be possible.
If you are not sure about these....would you recommend any?0 -

Sonys are VERY good (32")

Panasonic Plasmas are the mutts nuts for the price (37")
Dont worry about 1080 ~ 720 looks amazing on them
Bare in mind MOST things will soon be connected via hdmi so id recommend a unit with 3 hdmi sockets on personally (The sony has 2):idea:0 -
Yes ive got a Panny plasma and pic quality is outstanding0

As already mentioned, 1080p on a 32'' TV is overkill; you won't tell the difference unless you're a real cinema nut. I'll vouch for Sony; my KDL32s3000 is excellent at 720p/1080i.
With regard to size; the missus nearly feinted when it came out of the box, having upgraded from a 21' CRT, but we both soon got used to it. A few months later and it looks pretty normal, even in a smallish room. Moral of the story: don't be scared to go up a size if you can afford it, it might look like you have a billboard in the front room for a while, but you'll soon love it.Super geek.0
