Bad Buy Guide

Saving money also means avoiding bad buys. So I am starting a new thread so people can advise us "penny pinchers"
I like "Walnut Whips" and they are not readily available. So when I saw a special pack of 6 in my local supermarket I purchased it @ £2.69
Next time I went shopping, in a different supermarket, I was pleased to see that I could save £0.10 and put 2 packs in my trolley.
A little further along I saw a "3 pack" @ £0.99 each and quickly worked out that I would save £0.50p by buying 2 packs containing 3 rather than a fancier pack containing 6.
But now I was annoyed because the first shop hadn't offered the cheaper "3 pack" and I was £0.60 out of pocket.
Feel free to post warnings to others about such bad buys so they do not fall into the trap that I fell in. Buying bigger doesn't always mean buying cheaper. Maybe the manufacturers will pull their socks up and not rip off their customers again and again.
