I have just found out that the summer fares for BMI baby are out.
In my excitement to book quickly i have not given the exact name as on mypassport. My passport and real name is Alison Louise bt as passenger details I have only put Louise. Are they pedantic about these things or will i have to pay to change the name. I have tried ringing them but they are sooo busy i been waiting on hold for ages. I only realised when I had confirmed my booking minutes ago

All you can do is give them a phone and see what they say, (there could be a charge), - but I always give airlines my full name even though nobody calls me by it.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0

I think if you phone them within 24 hours you should be ok. Look at the very small print at the bottom of your booking.
It's kinda their fault as you shouldn't be allowed to proceed with only one name. I am sure Madonna has to put her surname in her bookings !!****************************0 -
Firstly, am I right in thinking you did put your surname down and Alison and Louise are your 2 first names?
Hubby forgot to put his middle name on booking for tickets to Australia, we phoned the airline and they told us not to worry. They said that as long as it is right on the visa and passport, they don't really care. They just need the number of bums on seats
Speak to your carrier first, they may not be that bothered.Debt 2007 £17k

I saw someone on Airport once (the TV show) - he had put something like Chris instead of Christopher and they didn't let him on - so make sure you do check first.0

I've been through more airports in Europe, US, Carribean and Far East than I care to remember over the last 28 years, sometimes even my surname on my tickets was misspelt (just one letter), and I had all sorts of variations of my christian names on my tickets. Never got questioned once about it.
However, it's always a good idea to have the name on the ticket match the name in your passport.
Minor variations shouldn't matter - if you are Alison Louise Smith (for example) in your passport, a ticket with Alison Smith or Louise Smith or Luise Smith or Alsion Smith or A. Smith or A.L. Smith will generally get you through any check in and border control without any questions. L. Smith may be a bit trickier, and anything else is likely to raise further eyebrows, total discrepancies (e.g. totally wrong surname) are likely to result in real trouble.
But a lot also depends on which airports you use - any american one will be more vigilant than others. Also, the folks at the check-ins and passport/ticket controls are pretty astute, so just be relaxed and confident when you go through passport control, because you know you have nothing to hide and can quietly and confidently explain everything should anyone ask questions (not likely).
If it really troubles you, then it's best to have your name corrected, but this may cost you quite a lot.0 -
Hi,
If its domestic the airline will normally say its okay. If its European its more of a problem, as its causes problems with customs if they ever check.
If you ring them they should change it for you (hopefully free or cheaply)
Best regards

Don't worry... as long as you have the name Louise in your passport.0
