He's just trying to help though, i don't see what's wrong with it (as long as it's full disclosure, i.e. he /did/ say he worked for them)
Rules are rules
ADVERTISING
This site is free from advertising. Posts on any board considered to be advertising goods, services and/or companies will be removed.
Examples of this can include anything from a specific sales post or a link to your own website in which you attempt to sell something to someone offering their holiday home to forum members. Unfortunately we cannot allow any advertising of any description no matter how honourable the intention.
This includes the Referrals Board (see below).
If you think you have a genuinely good deal please contact a Board Guide for the board you’d like to post it on. If they agree with you they’ll contact the MSE Team and it will be considered. Any final decision will be that of the MSE Team. Please do not question the response with the Board Guide.0 -
I think he was just trying to be helpful kipper he did say he worked for T3 so maybe he didnt know the rules ( not being argumentative)xThanks to all OPs:AThe Real Chris
Bring on the Trumpets0 -
Helping out is fine, but he cannot post links as he has admitted to working for T3.0

Isn't the advert already there in the form of the original link?0
-
Well if thats the case we may as say goodbye to the comps board as we are all advertising.0

I agree, we are.Well if thats the case we may as say goodbye to the comps board as we are all advertising.
This poster was only updating the link, people were going to visit / wanting to visit the site to enter the comp.
Anyway, I don't want to get in an argument with you (or anybody else) so I will leave it at that

As a BG on here I am obliged to keep this board on the straight and narrow so to speak, and if Dr Gonzo posts a link to a T3 comp ( which they have done previously without declaring his interest in T3) then I am as are others a fully within out rights to report to abuse as they are breaking forum rules whether they know they are or not.
I can't see there being a problem with helping out as companies are allowed to post as long as they have permission from MSE, but thats more along the lines of big companies such as Quidco etc
See Here
If Dr Gonzo wishes to be on that list, I'm sure if he PM's MSE Andrea it would be taken into consideration, but they still wouldn't be able to provide links to the comps, just help out "officially"
Link in the OP is now updated to the correct one0 -
Aah, and there was me having a warm fuzzy moment when the T3 man popped in to help. Didn't think it would create such a furore! All comps are adverts for the sites and products really, that's why the person to contact when we don't get our prizes is the ASA and most are administered by PR companies!
Sorry T3 man, we do love you really, but as the wonderful Kips says, "rules are rules" I suppose. Thanks for your help anyway. But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!0 -
Everything seems to be said really harshly on these forums at the moment, not at all like the friendly place it used to be.0

Maybe Dr Gonzo could PM someone the link in the morning. That way rules are abided by, and we still get to enter this fab comp!2008 wins £4405 2009 wins £7194 2010 wins £9615
Best wins ever: Laptop, £1000 John Lewis vouchers, PS3, Xbox 360 iPad Mini :beer:0
