Wondering if anyone knows if this is worth buying. I need to weld a nut to my car's bodywork to secure a tailgate gas strut so need a good strong weld. I've no experienced of welding though.

given the choice a mig welder is much better and easier to use (im sure someone will say different) and im sure all car welding know must be done with a mig.
if you are only welding 1 nut cant your local garage do it ?0 -
40amps will blow holes in car bodywork. Should be ok for knocking up railings etc for your garden, assuming it doesn't break within 5minutes0

Anyone got any thoughts on the head unit though? Looks tempting...0

Anyone got any thoughts on the head unit though? Looks tempting...
£50, reads 4gb sd cards, bluetooth hands-free, and 3 year warranty. Sounds worth a punt if after a cheap stereo/hands-free. Also I think you'll find ALDI won't balk at giving you a refund if you take it back within, I think it's a month? So if you just hook it up without installing the cage, try it out and if it's not for you...0 -
Welding doesn't cost that much, I'm having 4 patches repaired on my car and the total comes to £800
