You better move quickly as the Abbey Fixed Rate Monthly Saver is nearly offsale.
Abbey have stopped advertising this now as the hedge fund has nearly run out.

Thanks, that's exactly what I thought. But it's not just about being able to 'tweak' the dates - fun though that is - it's also partly because I am now transferring £750 [£250 to Halifax and £500 to Abbey] on the same date - 1st of the month which puts too much strain on my bank account - I am genuiely moving moving between accounts, now, rather than saving it from salary etc. If cahoot offers the option for 'do it yourself' standing orders then it is a shame that Abbey [who own cahoot] say they must receive payment by S/O but will not say why. [I asked them - and drew a blank]
Let's face it, we save for our convenience - not the banks'. Why should it be otherwise?
PS I compromised, and set up future payments via cahoot to HALIFAX today instead. the setting up worked quite well and I shall need to put less through my bank in future. I may do the same for Abbey account in a month's time ;)
Agreed, Milarky, I am actually funding Halifax and Abbey FRMS (500 + 250) for me and my wife on two different days of the month, and after failing to convince them to take the money off their respective Web savers, have actually opened current accounts with each of them, and am funding the current accounts on a monthly basis one day b4 the due date, by physically going to the branch and depositing it. Thanx to the free time I get at work, and the fact that I work at Canary Wharf, the mecca of Bank branches this side of the city. It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0 -
I Have now added Abbey RS to future-dated withdrawals from cahoot account starting in January. And I have brought foward some payment dates to before the end of the previous month where possible so that these will hit Abbey account on the 1st on some months. Because it takes three days [4 WD] withdrawals are now all timed on Monday or a Tuesday. A bit of a palaver I agree but I'm happier now.
[Thanks to mary for pointing out this feature of cahoot ].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Went into Abbey as we are moving current accounts and abbey insist your standing order should not change amount, or originating account.
I was first told I could change the originating account - and then that I couldnt - a bit of a pain and the usual lesson to take anything abbey staff tell you with a pinch of healthy scepticism!0
